History
From 2008
Since 2012, the vineyard has continued to grow in more ways than one. Alongside the planting of an additional 10,000 vines, Jac and his wife Charley built their home on the vineyard in 2020.
Llaethliw also welcomed its first “pest-control employee” in 2010, Jet the Cocker Spaniel, who was later joined by her enthusiastic assistant, Bernie the Bernedoodle, in 2020.
Today, Llaethliw is home to over 15,000 vines, two families, and two very happy dogs.
We’re proud to produce a range of award winning still and sparkling wines, alongside our cider, Hansh.
To Today
Richard and Siw Evans bought Llaethliw in 2008. Both grew up locally in the Teifi and Aeron valleys. The idea for the vineyard came to Richard while exploring ways to diversify the farm and thinking about how climate change might open new possibilities.
Their son, Jac later studied viticulture at Plumpton College from 2010 to 2012, before returning home to look after the vineyard.
The first 8,500 vines were planted in 2009, and Llaethliw has been growing and evolving ever since.
